A Little Christmas Memory

There are a few ornaments on our Christmas tree that I look forward to hanging every single year. They aren’t the newest or the fanciest ornaments. In fact, they’re over 50 years old. My mom gave them to me years ago, and they originally came from Germany. Through countless Christmases and a few close calls, only a handful have survived. They’re among my most treasured Christmas decorations because every time I unwrap them, I think of her.

When I saw the NEW Festive Cheer Bundle, I immediately smiled. The ornament images reminded me so much of those beautiful vintage ornaments that have been part of my family’s Christmas for decades. Deck The Hall Card Details

My card begins with an Old Olive card base. I matted a pattern from the Mixed Up Patterns Designer Series Paper onto a Pecan Pie panel before stamping the sentiment in Mossy Meadow Ink. Once complete, I adhered the panel to the card base.

Next, I created the beautiful evergreen branch by die cutting Mossy Meadow cardstock three times using the pine bough dies. I also die cut Pecan Pie cardstock three times using the coordinating branch dies and layered them over the greenery to create a realistic holiday garland.

The ornaments are truly the stars of this card! I stamped them in Mossy Meadow, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, and Lost Lagoon inks on Basic White cardstock before cutting them out with the coordinating dies. Gold Foil ornament toppers add just the right touch of elegance and holiday sparkle.

After arranging the ornaments across the pine boughs, I adhered them with Stampin’ Dimensionals for added depth. To finish the design, I tied a double Linen Thread bow and attached it with a Mini Glue Dot. A few Dewdrop Embellishments provide the perfect finishing touch and a subtle bit of shimmer.

For the inside I added a strip of the Mixed Up Patterns DSP. Then I stamped the sentiment in Mossy Meadow Ink to finish it off!

I love how this card combines natural elements with soft vintage colors for a Christmas card that’s elegant, timeless, and surprisingly easy to recreate.
