Stampin’ Up! Garden Gatherings Friend Card

Happy Wednesday! Sometimes the simplest cards make the biggest impact. Today’s final card in this week’s Card Class Kit To Go is a wonderful example of how beautiful stamped images, soft colors, and thoughtful layering can create an elegant handmade card. Today I created this Garden Gatherings Friend Card.

I began with a Pretty Peacock card base and layered two coordinating patterns from the Beautiful Ordinary Life Designer Series Paper. The contrasting patterns add interest while allowing the floral focal point to remain the star of the design.

The vase was stamped in Pretty Peacock Ink and filled with soft Pool Party “water” for a realistic touch. I added the delicate leaves in Lost Lagoon and the cheerful flowers in Daffodil Delight to create a bright bouquet that instantly makes me smile. The sentiment, stamped in Lost Lagoon Ink, nestles perfectly beside the vase and adds a sweet finishing touch.

To give the focal image extra dimension, I layered it onto Pretty Peacock cardstock before popping it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally, I finished the card with a few Array of Dots embellishments for just the right amount of sparkle.

This design is proof that you don’t need lots of layers or techniques to create something beautiful. Sometimes a clean layout, gorgeous patterned paper, and a simple floral image are all you need.
