Stampin’ Up! Fragrant Layers Birthday Card

Fragrant Layers Birthday Card Details

My color palette for this card is Calypso Coral, Basic Black, Granny Apple Green, and a dash of Crushed Curry for the flower centers. The contrast of the black stripes against the embossed white background gives this card a clean and striking look, while the layered florals add the perfect amount of dimension.

This card begins with a Calypso Coral card base. I embossed a panel of Basic White cardstock using the Beautiful Pattern Embossing Folder, which adds subtle texture and detail to the background. This embossing folder is currently on the Last Chance List, so if it has been on your wish list now is the time to grab it. I mounted the embossed panel onto Basic Black cardstock and adhered it to the card front.

To create the bold striped design, I cut three thin strips of Basic Black cardstock and adhered them across the top of the card front. These simple strips create a dramatic contrast and really make the floral images pop.

Next, I stamped the large floral image from the Fragrant Layers Bundle in Tuxedo Black Ink. I stamped the fill image in Calypso Coral for the flowers and Granny Apple Green for the leaves, then added a dash of Crushed Curry to the flower centers for a bright finishing touch. Once everything was stamped, I die cut the images using the coordinating dies.

The Little Details

I arranged the flowers across the card front and adhered them with Stampin’ Dimensionals for added depth. The leaves were tucked in and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to complete the floral cluster.

To finish the card, I added a little sparkle with the NEW Pearlized Faceted Circles, available beginning May 5th. They add just the right amount of bling and bring this floral design to life.
