Stampin’ Up! Capturing Smiles Looking Good Card

If you love bold color combinations and playful designs, today’s card is going to make you smile. Capturing Smiles Looking Good Card Details

This design combines Daffodil Delight, Azure Afternoon, and Basic White for a fresh and cheerful look that really pops. The textured background paired with crisp white embossing creates a striking focal point that feels both modern and fun.

I started with a Daffodil Delight card base. Then I added a panel of Azure Afternoon cardstock that was embossed using the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. This subtle texture adds depth without taking away from the main elements of the card.

Next, I layered a piece of Brights Painted Patterns Designer Series Paper onto a Daffodil Delight panel. Then I adhered it to the card front. The vertical pattern helps draw your eye right to the center where all the magic happens.

The camera is the star of the show on this card. I stamped the camera image and center detail in VersaMark Ink onto Azure Afternoon cardstock. Using the heat tool I embossed it using Wow White Embossing Powder. This technique gives that crisp, clean outline that really stands out against the bold background.

To build dimension, I die cut a photo strip from Basic White cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Azure Afternoon ink. I adhered that behind the camera to give it that layered, snapshot feel. For the focal point, I stamped a circle in Daffodil Delight on Basic White cardstock and die cut it using the coordinating die. I added a Daffodil Delight heart to the center for a sweet little detail that ties everything together.

Once everything was layered onto the card front, I finished it off with Wonderful Stars Puffy Stickers for a bit of shine and added Baker’s Twine to the camera to mimic a handle. It’s a small detail that adds so much character.
