Today I’m sharing the second card in this week’s Card Class Kit To Go, and this one is all about fun, flirty color with a bold pop of contrast. If you love pinks with a little edge, this card is going to steal your heart. I CASEd this card from Peggy Noe from Pretty Paper Cards and I gave it my own flare!

Capturing Smiles Birthday Card Details

For this design, I paired Strawberry Slush and Bubble Bath with Basic Black to really make those adorable camera images stand out. The result is a playful, modern card that’s perfect for celebrating life’s little moments.

I started with a Thick Basic White card base. Then I layered a pattern from the Mixed Up Patterns Designer Series Paper onto a panel of Basic Black cardstock. This simple step instantly frames the design and adds depth. Next, I added a light splatter of Strawberry Slush ink using a Stampin’ Blend. This technique gives just the right amount of texture and movement without overwhelming the card.

The cameras from the Capturing Smiles Bundle were stamped in Strawberry Slush and Bubble Bath, then die cut with the coordinating dies. I also die cut Basic Black cardstock using the film strip die, which creates a fun focal element and ties perfectly into the photo theme.

For the sentiment, I stamped it in Tuxedo Black Ink on Strawberry Slush cardstock and trimmed it into a clean label. Then came the fun part—layering all the elements together to create that playful, clustered look. To finish the card, I added a double bow using Bubble Bath Faux Linen Ribbon and a few Moody Palette Glossy Dots for a touch of sparkle.
